AMST SYSTEMTECHNIK GmbH

The complexity of modern military aircraft demands a significant investment in pilot training. Preparation of courses and the procurement of specialist training equipment are vital factors in ensuring the complete operational perfomance and safety of an aircraft and its flight crew.

AMST has developed a specialist range of products capable of simulating the experience of high altitudes, spatial disorientation and "G"-forces. Our expertise is the result of years of experience, research, and technological innovation.

Night Vision Training System
An Investment in Safety

Training Modules

Computer-based Training Course

Basic physiological and physical principles of night vision and electro-optical NVD's advantages, limitations and differences of image intensifiers and demonstrates set-up, function and use of NVG under operational conditions. Also contains in-flight night VIDEO sequences.

Set-up Procedure Training

Aircrew practise the set-up procedures; pre-flight inspections; practice individual NVG fitting; focusing; ocular adjustment and calibration using their personal goggles.

Situational Awareness Demonstrations

Aircrew experience the limited visual capabilities and visual illusions occurring under unaided and aided night vision conditions.

Night Flight

Aircrew fly a short-duration tactical mission at low-level whilst wearing their night vision goggles. At the very least, this activity allows the student to operate an aircraft under NVG conditions with the benefit of recent instruction in NVG limitations.

Refresher Training

Aircrew refresh the theoretical knowledge at squadron level with subsequent visits to the Terrain Board, Night Flight with practical exercises, and theory revision.

Statistics and Analysis

Training results and bio-feedback data will be recorded for each individual trainee and are available for de-briefing as well as documentation purposes occurring under unaided and aided night vision conditions.

High-G Human Training Centrifuge
An Investment in the Future

Human training centrifuges generate rapid onsets and sustained G-forces, typical for those of modern high-performance fighter aircraft, providing effective training for an individual student in a highly reliable and safe environment. Centrifuges reproduce the natural G-loads and stress to which pilots are exposed, and can provide dynamic flight simulation. The result is improved performance in target tracking tasks, air combat manoeuvres, maintaining spatial orientation and situational awareness.

Centrifuge training allows the pilot to re-establish and maintain his optimum performance level even when flights are not possible or are not desired. Centrifuges provide an environment-friendly training of aircrew. One training centrifuge costs much less than one modern fighter aircraft.

Airfox DISO
Today's Ultimate Disorientation Training Unit

The Airfox Disorientation Trainer represents a multi-purpose, low-cost training device, based on standard components and equipment. It is an innovative technical solution, with superior capabilities with respect to dynamic characteristics, performance of motion and visual cues, as well as demonstration of disorientation effects.
